Easy Matar Pulao Recipe | How to Make Matar Pulao | Green Peas Rice Recipe

this is a basic matar pulao or Indian rice pilaf dish prepared using just a few spices ingredients and quantities are listed in the description box we need 2 tbsp oil 15 cups rice, presoaked soaked for 30 minutes

the water is drained out now 1 cup frozen green peas you can use fresh peas instead 1 onion, sliced 3 cups water 1 black cardamom, crushed, 1-inch stick of cinnamon & 3-4 cloves 1 tsp cloves 2 tsp kasuri methi/dry fenugreek leaves 15 tsp salt add oil and let it heat up heat on medium add the cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves and crushed cardamom stir for 30 seconds add the sliced onions saute until light brown about 2-3 minutes if you are using fresh peas add them along with the sliced onion as they take longer to cook than frozen ones add the dry fenugreek leaves and the frozen peas adjust heat to low medium as needed cook for a minute add the soaked rice salt give a stir reduce heat to low & add the water stir well and raise heat to high when the water comes to a boil reduce heat to low and cover with a lid cook till the water dries up and check on the rice in between after 15 minutes the water has dried up and the rice is cooked put off the heat and cover the rice
