
Tagore family’s veg recipe- Elephant foot yam veg curry with yellow split pea fritters / Ol –Mator daaler barar dalna 15-16 dice pieces of elephant foot yam / ol (parboiled) 1 big potato (cut into 12 dice pieces and golden fried) 15-16 small fried fritters of yellow split pea / mator daaler baraa (50g yellow split pea/ mator daal soaked in water for overnight; and next morning make a paste and then add ¼ tsp salt & ¼ tsp sugar and bit very well After that fry the fritters and keep aside) 3 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp mustard paste 1 tsp turmeric powder 4-5 slited green chilies 2 bay leaves (for making gravy) ¼ tsp asafetida powder ¼ tsp whole cumin seeds 2 bay leaves (for tempering) 1 tsp salt 2 tsp sugar ½ tsp homemade hot spice power / garam masala powder Ghee & white oil First take a bowl and make a spice mixture with coriander powder + turmeric powder + 2 bay leaves + mustard paste and water Now on the flame and place a dry pan on it
Pour the spice mixture in to this pan Add little more water Flame to high If gravy is boiling, add fried potato pieces and parboiled elephant foot yam pieces Add salt slited green chilies Cover it on medium flame If potato pieces are boiled, add fried fritters of yellow split pea / mator daaler baraa sugar Mix all and cover it for 2 minutes After 2 minutes, gravy along with veggies is kept aside in a separate bowl
Now heat 1 tsp white oil and 1 tsp ghee 2 bay leaves whole cumin seeds Asafetida powder Now pour the gravy with veggies Add hot spices powder (4 cloves + 1 inch cinnamon + 4 green cardamoms) Mix all together and move Serve it with steamed rice/ roti please like/ share / comment & subscribe my channel
