today we are preparing honey chilli potato, an Indian starter dish which can be had as a snack and a meal time dish as well here are the ingredients we will need these along with their quantities are listed in the description box oil for frying potatoes, peeled & cut like french fries

keep them in a bowl of water to prevent discoloration rice flour all purpose flour cornflour dry roasted til/sesame seeds sliced onion sliced bell pepper grated garlic & ginger chopped green chillies chopped cilantro honey red chilli sauce tomato ketchup soya sauce salt Add water, salt & potatoes to a kadahi/wok, give a stir and boil them on high heat for 5 minutes after 5 minutes reduce heat to low and boil for another 5 minutes a total of 10 minutes of boiling cooking them about 70% only then put off the heat and strain out the water transfer the potatoes to a bowl then add a tsp of all-purpose flour and a tsp of rice flour and mix to coat all over in another bowl put the remaining rice flour & all purpose flour add salt to your taste we are adding 3/4 tsp stir to mix and then add water as needed to make a thick but flowing batter this is the consistency of the batter add the potatoes and mix to coat all over in a pan add oil for frying and keep the heat on high once oil is hot reduce heat to medium and fry the potatoes very lightly as we will be frying them again a second time keep turning them over and keep adjusting heat as required double frying the potatoes will make them crispy you can separate those stuck a little while into frying like this or when you remove them to a plate all the potatoes are fried once now fry them a second time, this time till they turn golden in color all the potatoes have been fried twice now remove the oil and then pour just 2 tbsp of oil in this pan to prepare the sauce we have added 2 tbsp oil to the pan keep the heat on medium and add the ginger garlic saute for 15-20 seconds we just need to remove their raw taste add the chopped green chillies, bell pepper & sliced onions

saute for about 1 to 2 minutes keep heat on medium the veggies should remain crunchy add the red chilli sauce, tomato ketchup and soya sauce and stir till they combine well adjust heat as needed add a tsp or more if you like of roasted sesame seeds and mix well stir cook for about 1 to 15 minute now add 1 cup water, mix well and let the mixture come to a boil in the meantime add 3 tsp water to the cornflour and stir to make a smooth solution stir the mixture and add the cornflour solution when it starts boiling mix well and stir till the sauce mixture thickens, about 1/2 a minute once the sauce has thickened put off the heat and transfer the pan to a cold burner or the kitchen platform and add the honey never heat honey mix well and add the fried potatoes mix again till all the potatoes are well coated with the sauce the dish is smelling heavenly the honey chilli potato dish is ready transfer it to a serving bowl we are out of spring onions so we will garnish the dish with some cilantro instead as well as some roasted sesame seeds if you have spring onion greens chop them and garnish with them here is our dish of the day – honey chilli potato do try it our way and give your feedback
