Ultimate Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Recipe

We’re Adam and Joanne from inspiredtastenet and welcome to our kitchen

We’re making our Ultimate Pulled Pork We’re using our slow cooker today, but check the recipe for instructions for using a pressure cooker or Instant Pot Start by rubbing pork shoulder with a generous amount of salt and pepper — there’s a lot of meat here so don’t be shy Place the seasoned pork into a slow cooker and move on to the sauce Chop an onion into small pieces then mince 4 garlic cloves

Now we move to the stove top Add some oil to a skillet and cook the onions and garlic until softened For more flavor, add tomato paste, chili powder and ground cumin Stir and cook for a minute or two then pour in water, apple cider vinegar and fish sauce If you don’t have fish sauce, Worcestershire sauce is a great alternative

Just use a spoon to scrape up anything stuck to the bottom of the pan Pour the onion and spice mixture on top of the pork then move the pork around so that some of the onion and spice mixture slides underneath Cover with the lid and cook on low until the pork can easily be shredded, for a large piece of meat it will take about 8 to 10 hours If you are using a pressure cooker, the cook time will be much less When it’s done, take the pork out of the slow cooker and shred it with two forks — as we shred the pork, we remove any large clumps of fat

Okay now to finish, we worked hard on that cooking liquid so let’s use it Pour it into a jug and skim excess fat from the top Then toss with the shredded pork We just do this in the slow cooker As the pork sits in the liquid, it soaks up even more flavor

It’s ridiculously tasty And that’s it, ultra-tender and flavorful pulled pork Enjoy! Thanks for watching If you love this video we have lots more Make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel and say hi on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram
