Lentil Stew Recipe

Hello I'm Shelley Green a master student with Kent State University in this video I'm going to be showing you how to make a slow cooker lentil stew This recipe is super simple, really quick to put together, and be ready the moment you walk home To prepare this recipe we'll be needing to chop several vegetables, one of which is two stalks of celery So to chop up our two celery you're going to take a knife tip side down and perform a nice rocking motion cut off the tips push those aside Turn them around and cut off this hard end There's nothing wrong with them they're just a little bit tough and difficult to eat

And then simply take your knife point side down Rock Continue chopping all the way Alright using that state chopping motion, we're going to chop up the rest of our vegetables, and then we're going to add one and a half cups of lentils Followed by two chopped potatoes Four chopped carrots Two stalks of celery One red pepper 1 jalapeno pepper Half of a white onion and two cloves of garlic Next we're going to add in the spices, it's going to be one teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon of paprika One teaspoon parsley 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper One teaspoon of garlic salt and 1/2 teaspoon of oregano Next we're going to add in four cups of spinach Followed by four cups of vegetable stock And then two and a half cups of water And There's no need to give this a stir once we've got everything in here because it'll all mix over the next eight hours on low Here comes water And we're ready to go Eight hours later, and you're going to have a beautiful bowl of lentil stew Thanks for watching
