Creamy Mushroom Chicken Recipe ~ Slow Cooker Cream of Mushroom Chicken

This is an easy slow cooker chicken recipe I'm Tess and today I'm making a rich and delicious creamy mushroom chicken dinner in the crock pot

(intro music) I'm starting by making my gravy or sauce for the chicken I have a large 26 ounce can of cream of mushroom soup You can use two smaller cans or you can make your own If you would like to learn how to make cream of mushroom soup I will leave a link here and in the show more section below I'm adding in a little minced garlic, black pepper and some onion powder

This is Better than Bullion chicken base I'm mixing it with a little water and I'm adding in some cornstarch to help thicken my sauce You can use a vegetable base or they even have a mushroom base that I have not tried yet You have noticed that I have not added any salt The cream of mushroom and the bullion base will add plenty of salt for us

Mixing everything together and setting to the side I have six bone-in chicken thighs that I removed the skin You can use boneless chicken breasts or thighs I don't want this dish to be swimming in a lot of fat For the vegetables you can use whatever you have or like

Today I'm adding in some chopped onions, celery, carrots and of course the sliced mushrooms and lots of them! I kept the pieces a rustic bite size so they hold up in the slow cooker Pouring my sauce on top and leveling out

The lid goes on and cooking on high for three to four hours or on the low setting for five to six hours Just a reminder that you'll be able to find this recipe, the list of ingredients and much more in the show more section below I've also included links where you can purchase online some of the ingredients and equipment that I use in this video recipe If you have a chance please check it out It's been three and a half hours and it is smelling great! You can see the sauce is a nice gravy like consistency

We're not done yet! Now I'm adding in a handful freshly chopped parsley, some peas and a little cream cheese to add some creaminess Giving that a gentle stir and taste testing for any additional seasonings Lid goes back on and cooking on high for another 20 minutes or until the cheese melts It's been 30 minutes and it's done! You can see the sauce is nice and thick, the cream cheese is melted, the veggies are tender and the chicken is falling off the bone I love crock-pot meals because they're so convenient on those busy days
